The Protocol Administrative Assistant shall provide MDA protocol support services requirements include, but are not limited to: 1) general protocol office support; 2) Agency event support; and 3) distinguished visitor support. Protocol support provides direct support to the Chief of Staff Directorate (DS), MDA Flag Officers/General Officers, members of the Senior Executive Service (SES), and Program Executives/Directors.
The Protocol Administrative Assistant shall advise the COS Office on military customs and courtesies per the Military Services Regulations required for each event, traditional and formal diplomatic customs, courtesies and etiquette due visiting dignitaries, and both foreign and domestic. Developing briefings, coordinating conferences, meetings, ceremonies and social functions involving federal and state legislative delegations, general officers/flag officers of the United States and foreign nations' military and other civilian high-ranking officials. Maintaining expert knowledge of foreign relations/protocol procedures that apply to military/civilian leaders (foreign and domestic); apply precedential national and international rules, procedures and forms.

Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands This is largely a sedentary role mostly sitting; however, some filing may be required . This would require the ability to move files, or boxes with file data, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary, ability to lift up to 40lbs.
