Responsibilities
The staff nurse for the oncology patient subpopulation, provides safe, effective, and evidence-based care tailored to the individual needs of the patient and family. The staff nurse utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation while caring for our patients maintaining confidentiality and dignity.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
BSN preferred or currently matriculating. Obtain the ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate during orientation and maintain throughout employment.
EXPERIENCE
One year nursing experience and achieve Oncology Certified Nurse designation within 90 days of meeting eligibility criteria
LICENSURE
Active RI RN license, BLS required
SPECIAL SKILLS
Demonstrated proficiency in acute-care nursing, knowledge, and skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately
Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals
Basic computer knowledge is preferred
Strong ability to communicate and interact professionally in busy environment
