Construction Controls Corporation Intern

The Construction Controls Corporation (CCC) is a division of HDR, Inc. which provides Program and Project Management as well as other field services on behalf of our valued clients. The CCC Intern will work as a member of a project management team on multiple projects, serving clients such as NHDOT, Mass DOT and MBTA in the New England area. The position includes review of plans, specifications, schedules, estimate and quantity take-offs for projects of various sizes and complexity. CCC engages in several disciplines including highway & local roadway construction, green infrastructure, stormwater management, drainage & grading, utility installation, facility upgrades, feasibility studies, and general program management. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual who exhibits a high level of professionalism while performing construction management assignments. All work within this group is based at the respective field office located in greater Boston.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

* Current enrollment in accredited undergraduate or graduate engineering or construction management program or related discipline.

* This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing.

* An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.

* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Performing assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager. Offer real-world experience on exciting projects.

* Ability to travel to and from the project office to project sites using public transportation.

* Apply standard Construction management techniques and procedures.

* Must be currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering or Construction Management program.

* Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

* Attention to detail, ability to read, understand, and interpret construction documents.

* Possess strong problem-solving, written, and oral communication skills.

* Ability to interpret construction schedules, familiarity with scheduling software such as P6, and Microsoft Project.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and PMIS systems. Possess a demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry.

* Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professional programs.

* Preference given to local candidates.
