The Eliot-Pearson Children's School is the laboratory-demonstration school affiliated with the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Study and Human Development at Tufts University. The school serves as a model and demonstration facility, providing a training and observation site for new and experienced teachers and a research facility for faculty and supervised students in the Department of Child Study and Human Development. The Children's School enrolls approximately 65 children. It has preschool and PreK-K and Kindergarten to first grade classes that vary in length and frequency.
The Assistant Teacher supports head teachers in providing a high quality, inclusive education and care for children in the preschool classrooms. The position facilitates teaching and learning opportunities for children and families at the school and ensures their health and safety. The Assistant Teacher supports the classroom team in working with children 3-6 years old and also fulfills a state required teacher-child ratio and practices at the school.
