Overview

Electric Boat Corporation is seeking a Simulator/Simulation Engineer for the Tactical Simulation and Test team to serve in a full time position in support of US Navy programs in Department 440: Payload Launch Control.

The test team member will be responsible for:

    Developing simulators for hardware in the loop testing of embedded control systems to provide a real-time input/output interface
  • Developing real-time simulation to provide system-specific input/output responses
  • Executing test procedures/scenarios to qualify simulator/simulation requirements
  • Preparing test reports to document as-run test results
  • Performing integration testing on prototype systems
  • Overseeing integration testing at customer sites

The test team member will work closely with other members of the Payload Launch Control team in the Systems, Hardware, and Software Engineering groups to deliver products that meet or exceed quality, cost, and schedule requirements. In addition, the test team member will interact with subcontractor team members, Government test witnesses, and US Navy stakeholders.

A successful candidate will have the ability to work in a fast paced, team environment, coordinating with other disciplines, while meeting schedule and budget constraints.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering; other engineering disciplines will be considered
  • 2 -10 years of relevant experience
  • Internal candidates must be from organizations outside of Operations (Casciano/Gabriel)
Skills
  • Ability to obtain Secret level clearance
  • Self-motivated with the ability to think objectively and drive technical solutions to successful conclusion
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering lifecycle and standards
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills, as well as the ability to present technical/programmatic content to internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with VME preferred
  • Experience with IBM Rational Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System preferred
