GENERAL SUMMARY:

Perform LC-MS/MS assay in a high volume of Assay Core Laboratory in Brigham and Women's Hospital. Develop, validate, and implement complex bioanalytical method for quantitatively targeted proteomics assays on state-of-the-art LC-MS/MS platform to therapeutic medicine and bio-markers. Assist Primary Investigate generating research reports and manuscripts; undertakes quality assurance programs. Have profound knowledge on technology of HPLC, MS, and sample preparation with experience in bioanalytical separation and assay using LC-MS/MS.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop and validate accurate, reproducible, and robust bioanalytical methods for quantitatively targeted proteomics assays using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry

2. Performs biological sample preparation, routine data acquisition, processing, interpretation of data to the analyses of small and large molecule compounds from biological specimens using LC/MS/MS in a timely and accurate manner

3. Perform general lab maintenance, oversee lab inventory and chemical/reagent suppliers ensure availability of adequate supplies to laboratory operation.

4. Responsible for maintaining database, managing biological specimen storage and records; conducting database analysis on querying, search, import/export data, data summary.

5. Responsible for the coordination of lab activities, including documentation of laboratory records, quality assurance, keeping laboratory areas neat and clean

6. All other duties, related to ongoing research, as assigned

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree is required for this role, and master's and/or PHD are preferred, but not required

Requires knowledge/skills/working experience in Clinical/Pharmaceutical/Chemistry assay laboratory with HPLC separation and LC/MS/MS analysis

SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

* Broad knowledge of scientific principles and laboratory techniques.

* High sophistication of computer literacy; computer-database application that interacts with end users; lab equipment automation.

* Experience of using Skyline software for targeted proteomics method development and quantification

* Knowledge and experience in performing analytical assays using HPLC and LC/MS/MS determination.

* Knowledge of sample preparation techniques such as SPE, PP, immunoaffinity enrichment, and bio-processing (e.g., enzymatic digestions, and purification)

* Quick learning, logically thinking, detail-oriented, highly organized, effectively structuring multitasked work on high volume of assays, and priorities.

* Ability to identify potential problems to the research experiment and to conduct general instrumentation and automation troubleshooting; to ensure all work is accurate and free of errors/defects.

* Good oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and good at team/groups work.

* Commitment and willingness to work irregular hours occasionally; flexibility for some weekend as needed.
