This is a complex professional position with The City of Frederick. Under general direction, assists in the management and operational functions within The City of Frederick Code Enforcement Department to enforce the City's Municipal Code. The Assistant Manager of Code Enforcement coordinates assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies and provides highly responsible and complex staff support to the Manager of Code Enforcement. The successful candidate serves as a key liaison to the community on code enforcement efforts. This individual provides code enforcement expertise to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen, city departments, citizen review boards, community associations, businesses, and residents. This individual will receive direct supervision from the Division Manager of Code Enforcement and will supervise professionals and office support staff in the Code Enforcement Department.
The Assistant Manager of Code Enforcement is designated an "essential employee," meaning an employee who provides services that are critical functions required to maintain order, peace, safety, and the well-being of citizens and visitors to The City of Frederick in the event of a critical incident. In the event of an emergency, employees designated as essential to perform required operations and services in the applicable situation are required to remain at and/or report to work as directed.
