Job Purpose

The Senior Analyst, MA AMI Customer, Community, and Regulatory Engagement is a key member of the MA Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) program team that develops and manages our customer engagement strategy in support of a smarter, stronger, cleaner energy future for our customers in Massachusetts. We are seeking an experienced Senior Analyst to support our ongoing AMI customer and community engagement efforts, particularly in leading the coordination, alignment, and integration of related Customer Experience efforts across National Grid.

The Senior Analyst will serve as the AMI team's point of contact for all internal departments and stakeholders that rely on AMI/smart meter functionality to advance customer solutions (e.g., Energy Efficiency & Demand Response, Clean Transportation, Digital Customer Experience), while also supporting and representing National Grid in regulatory settings as required. Additionally, the Senior Analyst will lead the management of external vendor partners supporting the customer experience for the AMI program.

This position provides an exciting opportunity to shape the energy transition by engaging with our customers, meeting and educating internal and external stakeholders, and working to promote the advancement of smart meter technology in our region, while further developing expertise, leadership, and internal as well as external engagement skills.

This position will be located in Massachusetts (Waltham, Northboro, or Boston).

Key Accountabilities

Identifying opportunities and developing strategies to advance adoption of the MA AMI program and our net zero ambition, including:

  • Strategic collaboration with other teams within National Grid in various areas; MA AMI representative and liaison to other departments charged with the innovation of our energy grid and providing education and awareness of smart meters to our customers.
  • Working to deliver and support innovative customer engagement efforts.
  • Updating key stakeholders of the program on current and future (roadmap) activities and engagement opportunities.
  • Working closely with other AMI team members in designing and deploying enhanced customer engagement capabilities enabled by the deployment of smart meters.
  • Developing and supporting educational content and awareness to customers and internal/external stakeholders of National Grid across Massachusetts.
  • Managing new and existing relationships with the AMI program's external vendor partners that support the customer experience.
  • Keeping a steady "pulse" on the VOC (Voice of Customer) and provide strategic oversight and communication through the integration of customer feedback.
  • Working to ensure our most vulnerable customers and communities are not only seen and heard, but educated and aware of the benefits of the smart meter program.
  • Assisting with strategizing on marketing plans, content maintenance, and remaining agile throughout AMI deployment.
  • Supporting all regulatory compliance efforts as the representative for the customer experience and overall engagement.
  • Providing project support and development, including analysis, drafting/writing, presentations, and editing responsibilities.
Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or similar is required, such as in Communications, Public Policy, Economics, Environmental Science, Business, etc. Master's degree in relevant field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in Project Management.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder coordination skills are required.
  • Success working independently, proactively, handling multiple tasks, and determining priorities in a team environment balanced by an ability to collaborate effectively and translate smoothly across multiple disciplines or functional groups.
  • Vendor management experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with energy utility industry regulatory and customer practices and issues is preferred.
  • Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies is preferred.
  • Must have a clean, valid state driver's license.

MA Salary

$103,000 - $121,000 a year

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
