The opportunity

Harvard Business Review(HBR) is the leading destination for smart management thinking. Through its flagship magazine, books, and digital content and tools published on HBR.org, Harvard Business Review aims to provide professionals around the world with rigorous insights and best practices to help lead themselves and their organizations more effectively and to make a positive impact.

What you'll do:

  • Create and maintain data reporting tools and components, including dashboards, segments, and related data integrity workflows.
  • Support ad hoc web analytics requests using Adobe Analytics.
  • Identify business problems and opportunities and translating them into actionable testing hypotheses/plans.
  • Design and launch experiments and surveys onHBR.orgusing Adobe Target, Qualtrics, and other tools.
  • Document and analyze research with an eye toward automated and reproducible reporting and interactive visualizations (using R/Python and SQL).
  • Aggregate research findings and stats around key behaviors and metrics in a visual reference for analysts, designers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide training and assistance to employees looking to access and explore HBR data.
  • Develop and implement quantitative research with direct impact on revenue and design.
  • Lead research projects and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Participate in agile development cycle of a leading digital publication.
  • Learn about all aspects of print and digital publishing from colleagues.
  • Access to Harvard Business Publishing and Harvard University resources and learning opportunities.
  • Largely independent day-to-day work driven by frequent collaboration and ideation with other teams (editorial, design, UX, software development, marketing).

What you'll bring

  • Experience with or interest in data analysis and visualization using one or more of the following: Excel, R, Python, SQL, SPSS, SAS, MATLAB, Tableau, Domo, Qualtrics, Snowflake.
  • Ability to learn quickly and think analytically.
  • Curiosity about data-driven marketing and e-commerce.

You'll stand out if you have

  • Understanding of basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (DOM navigation, string matching/regex, functions, loops).
  • Experience conducting analyses or experiments to answer research/business questions and provide recommendations.
  • Familiarly with web analytics (such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics) and A/B testing software (such as Adobe Target or Optimizely).
  • The drive to ask questions and explore any kind of data or research.

$65,000 - $80,000

Above is the annualized pay range for this position. In addition, this position includes the opportunity to earn our annual Performance Based Variable Pay Program. Actual salary will be set based upon a range of factors, including external benchmark market data, individual knowledge, skills, experience, location and internal equity.
