Position Summary

The Technical Training Specialist, LATAM will join the Field Forensics Team as a full-time technical instructor supporting customers with the MX908. Duties include delivering operational instruction and field applications-based content to new customers to prepare them to use the MX908 in a variety of operational environments. Following a manufacturer-certified curriculum, the Technical Training Specialist, LATAM uses operational knowledge and experience to create a learning environment for customers to understand, apply, and succeed in using the MX908 for a variety of missions. The Technical Trainer will provide advanced training to scientific customers and will provide technical support to large programmatic fielding's.

The territory for this position is LATAM (Central America (incl. Mexico), South America and Caribbean). The ideal candidate resides in one of these countries, Southern Florida, or South Texas within traveling distance to an international airport.

This position requires frequent travel to military and law enforcement training sites, including remote locations in Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. When not traveling to a customer site, this role will be remote. The ideal candidate resides in Latin-American, South Florida, or South Texas.

    • Perform service checks on devices
    • Complete device troubleshooting and repair devices in the field
    • Shadow customers in the field during routine device use to understand novel use cases and collaborate on standard operating procedures
    • Train customers on advanced techniques and work with the applications team on new and emerging opportunities

Skills & Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience using hand-held field detection and analysis technologies in a field related to hazmat response, law enforcement, military operations, CBRNE response, drug investigations, or public health.
  • Track record of successful ability to deliver technical training and development to non-technical and operational personnel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish (Spanish required).
  • Capability to deliver training remotely, online when not traveling and work from a home office to engage customers, and the 908 Devices Field Forensics team via web-conference technology.
  • Strong technical background related to troubleshooting and repair.
  • Experience with spectral analysis from chemical detection equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain an export license within 90 days of start date (with company assistance).
  • Ability to travel internationally.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Technical experience related to repairing devices or other engineering/science experience preferred
  • Professional instructor certification preferred
  • Other professional certifications related to previous career field preferred

  • The position will be based in LATAM (Mexico, Central/South America, or Caribbean), South Florida or South Texas
  • The territory will include LATAM (Mexico, Central and South America, and Caribbean)
  • This role will report to the Director of Field Forensics Training, 908 Devices.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time.
