Mechanic IUH-60 Blackhawk Avionics Mechanic

The UH-60 Blackhawk Avionics Mechanic performs aircraft component replacements and electrical system repairs using specialized tools and equipment. They maintain tactical communications security and troubleshoot malfunctions in communication, flight control, IFF, and navigation equipment. They conduct scheduled inspections, manage aircraft operations using AMSS, and maintain maintenance records and technical publications.

Mechanic IUH-60 Blackhawk Avionics Mechanic Responsibilities Include:

  • Remove and replace various aircraft components and electrical systems with the use of special tooling and ground support equipment.
  • Perform maintenance on tactical communications security (COMSEC).
  • Other equipment types include communication, flight control, (IFF) and navigation.
  • Responsible for performing progressive, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar scheduled inspections according to all applicable technical publications and regulations.
  • Prepares and maintains aircraft maintenance records I/A/W DA Pam 738-751 in the Aircraft notebook (ACN) system. To include the following modules: aircraft logbook module, backshop module, phase module.
  • Ensures that all maintenance is properly preformed and documented I/A/W DA Pam 738-751, Quality Assurance requirements, TMs, MECs, SOFs, AMAMs, and all applicable company policies and procedures.
  • Performs research with the appropriate maintenance manuals and order repair parts in ACN supply module required for completing maintenance I/A/W appropriate maintenance manuals.
  • Performs functional checks of fuel, hydraulic, engines, avionics and electro-environmental systems I/A/W appropriate maintenance manuals in a timely manner.
  • Performs Pre and Post flight inspections, to include cleaning and servicing aircraft I/A/W appropriate maintenance manuals in a timely manner.
  • Completes diagnostics and troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft subsystems; maintains aircraft technical publications, historical forms, and records relative to aircraft maintenance.
  • Read and understand mechanical manuals and schematics and read and interpret all instruments.
  • Utilize AMSS to manage aircraft use and operations, maintenance, and repair operations and to maintain aircraft to the Army standard.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Mechanic IUH-60 Blackhawk Avionics Mechanic Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of UH-60 Avionics experience required.
  • UH-60 (15N) course graduate required or A/P certification.
  • Required to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and work in tiring and uncomfortable position.
  • Frequently lifts parts and equipment up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
