As part of the Reporting/BI Team, the Sr. Data Analyst will build ad-hoc and self-service analytic solutions, and lead quality assurance and data validation activities for multiple projects in a rapidly changing agile environment for various operational and regulatory reporting needs in Medicaid and Medicare lines of business.

The Sr. Data Analyst will work closely with a team of business analysts, developers, and BI/report developers to fully understand requirements, data architecture, data models, provide input into the appropriate design, data sourcing, and transformations needed; perform data validations, and deliver high-quality analytic and BI solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and analyze data using T-SQL, Excel, and PowerBI and other BI tools to design, develop, and test analytic solutions from various data sources.
  • Analyze, Interpret, and validate results of analytic, BI, and reporting solutions produced by the reporting, BI, and Data Architecture teams.
  • Create and revise process flows, data flows, data requirement specifications, use case scenarios, and validation and acceptance testing.
  • Create comprehensive output in the form of spreadsheets, dashboards, and/or visualizations from a variety of data sources.
  • Provide thought leadership and design into self-service BI capabilities.
  • Study current state and identify sources of error and improvement so an accurate data set is used for all analysis.
  • Develop business process models, context diagrams, conceptual data models, and perform data analysis, QA, and UAT efforts.
  • Collaborate with developers, business partners, and data stewards to determine new data fields that should be added to source systems to enable more efficient analytics and self- service BI.
  • Serve as an active member of the Data Governance and Data Warehouse committees.
  • Function as subject matter expert on Mass General Brigham Health Plan data domains.
  • Ensure adherence to data governance standards and policies.
  • Initiate new activity to define new policies and standards to close governance and quality gaps.
  • Hold self and others accountable to meet commitments.

  • Persist in accomplishing objectives to consistently achieve results despite any obstacles and setbacks that arise.

Qualifications

Required:

* Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, or related field (or the equivalent combination of training and experience, plus 7+ years of related experience).

* 5-7 years of directly related professional experience.3 years' experience in data analysis using SQL, Excel, or PowerBI.

  • Knowledge and experience reading and writing complex SQL statement, data analysis

Preferred/Desired:

  • Knowledge of Healthcare policies, process, and data.
  • Knowledge of HEDIS measures and policies.
  • Experience in creating data validation plans, data flows, and process flows.
  • Strong desire to learn new tools and assist in implementation/adoption of self-service initiatives - applications like but not limited to SSRS, PowerBI.
